I made a shredder that looks like a brain because it kind of made sense anatomically? I don't know. I should brainstorm some good reasons for building it.

Really, really had a hard time conceptualizing where you were going during most of the video, it took until final assembly for me to see the genius of the combining function with art into such a unique piece. Pretty impressive brain 🧠 inside of a head that really rocked the hat. Please keep up the great content!

Starting from 10:52 there's NO decent camera-angle on assembly. We can't really see the parts, and it's not clear how the spacer-pieces that Simone referred to as "stand-offs" fit in with the brain-pieces. The shot of her holding up some standoffs was good, because it was really an attempt to show us the stand-offs and NOT show us "Simone holding up the stand-offs". But you could have used that approach a lot more. Camera-person needed to come around to Simone's side of the bench to film the action since she was threading things on working backwards towards herself. The only part where the threading might be really clear is the part where you sped it up!!! I had to watch at 0.25x speed to see what she was doing!!! Is this a secret trademarked method that Simone doesn't want to reveal?

I took the motor out of an old shredder whose electronics failed and were constantly giving the signal that the shredder should not run. (I don't know if the signal it constantly gave was that the shredder had gotten too hot, or that the shredder wasn't well-positioning in its tub, but, either way, there was no way to convince the sensors that nothing was wrong and the shredder should run.) Without the electronics on it, when I plugged in the motor just by itself, through a surge-bar, it didn't blow the surge-bar but the motor gave off this great shower of sparks while running. Also the room got an electric-motor smell (is that ozone, from the motor ionizing oxygen?) really quick. Something about the printed-circuit board had been causing that motor to run in such a manner as to not give off such a massive shower of sparks. Or did I just have the polarity reversed? I haven't tried it the other way, probably never will. But I hate throwing away a perfectly good electric motor when it was the sensors that were the bad parts.

So unique! Hat looks fine too. On any electrical powered project that has a metal frame/body. I suggest using a 3-prong plug and screw the grounding wire to the metal frame inside for safety.

Look girl it sounds good and all but your idea can inspire stupid kid or adult for that mater, to start opening this machines from hell. You should remove this video and inted you should make video about how to make popcorn or something.

If you want other recycling ideas for an old shredder, the axles that go through the shiny cutting-disks, and the rods that hold the ends of that assembly on it, are of a great steel for making wind-chimes, they ring very chimey more chimey than clinky, in a way that not all metal rods are. And the metal cutting-disks can be made into a variety of more-or-less Ninja-esque wea'pons. They are basically circles with one very vi'cious and sharp triangular point, cut as a unit for strength. Some have quite high mirror finish. It depends on age and how much use they have endured. If they are still bright and shiny there are a million other decorative things, from a mobile to just tessellating them on a board and putting lexan or plexiglass in front. If these disks are not covered up then don't do the artwork in a home with children. Not safe. Points to sharp. Just way sharp. Like touch them and you will bl'eed.

Besides Truckla. This is my favorite invention of yours. The only thing I would personally change is the position of the motor. With it being under the blades. You loose half of the cutting space. But other than that. I'd TOTALLY buy one of these. Lol.
